HAPPY EQUINOX from as-told-to HR
What a country! This past Sunday luck had me spending nine hours on the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah in nature. I hiked and climbed and swam in Snow Canyon State Park, which is located in southern Utah near Zion & Bryce National Parks. Then, a miracle: RONNIE’S PASTRAMI Deli appeared semi-magically on our drive back west to Santa Monica. Here is owner Ron Eisen handing me a fresh challah bread as a symbol of wholeness for the holy day (Okay, I actually arranged the baked challah part with him & his rye bread baker ahead of my arrival via email). As ritual, we dipped pieces of the egg bread into honey on Monday for a “sweet year” — where upon this braided bread below took me weee weee weeee all the way home…didn’t even have to stop in Las Vegas because I had my fix!
Ronnie P. as-told-to me: “There are only ten to twenty Jewish families in this corner of Utah. But you’d be surprised. My best customers are Mormons: they LOVE Pastrami.”
Shana Tova Utah Metukah !
Happy 5773 wherever you may roam across this great land of ours!
Here is symbolic send-off from Ron Eisen at his deli (aka Claes Oldenburg installation?), giving sustenance to as told to HR heading west on journey through desert wilderness of UT, AZ, NV, CA via Highway #15

I love Johnny Cash as well.
Fun website!!! I’m getting one soon too, though it won’t make people laugh like yours, bummer.
So what’s this : “my arrival via email)” I’d like to learn how to travel that way too, but I’ll settle for astral travel 🙂
I spent the equinox at the Urban Permaculture house in MarVista, way cool. You can come with us if you want, when we go for a visit, I’ll let you know.
May spend this YomKippur with my bro, first time since we were kids!
